Coveberry Sherwood: Nottingham
Coveberry Sherwood offers a specialist residential nursing care service for adults living with complex and enduring mental health needs. Located just outside Nottingham city centre, the home provides a therapeutic and structured environment where individuals are supported to recover, grow, and rebuild their independence.
The setting is ideal for those whose mental health and behavioural needs have disrupted their ability to function independently, maintain relationships, engage in work or education, or cope with daily life. At Coveberry Sherwood, we recognise that everyone’s journey is different. Our highly skilled, nurse-led teams develop tailored care and treatment plans that evolve with each resident’s progress.
Residents benefit from a compassionate, recovery-focused approach that places them at the heart of their own support. We use the Recovery Star framework to encourage autonomy and self-determination, helping individuals identify their own goals and take meaningful steps toward achieving them. Whether it’s relearning life skills, managing health more effectively, or re-engaging with community life, we provide the practical and emotional support needed to make it possible.
Our approach is holistic, focusing not just on reducing symptoms but on enhancing overall quality of life. We support residents to build resilience, improve their self-esteem, strengthen coping strategies, and develop a sense of purpose. Equally, we prioritise physical health, social inclusion, and emotional wellbeing, key elements in sustaining long-term recovery and independence.
Many people who come to Coveberry Sherwood are stepping down from more secure or acute mental health services. Others may be stabilising following a breakdown in a previous placement. In both cases, we provide a period of structured rehabilitation designed to reduce distress, promote stability, and prepare individuals for life beyond residential care.
To support this transition, we also offer four purpose-built transitional living flats. These self-contained units replicate a home environment, allowing residents to consolidate their skills, test their independence, and gain confidence in managing day-to-day responsibilities. They also enable our teams to assess readiness for discharge and offer focused support in areas that may need strengthening.
Admission to Coveberry Sherwood is open to adults aged 18 and over with a primary diagnosis of mental health disorder. We also support individuals with co-occurring conditions, such as mild learning disabilities or autism, and those with a forensic history or behaviours that challenge. Referrals are accepted for people admitted informally, as well as those subject to a Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) or Community Treatment Orders.
At Coveberry Sherwood, we believe in the potential of every individual. Our goal is to create a nurturing space where people feel safe, valued, and supported on their path to greater independence, wellbeing, and community reintegration.
